Number of submissions
I see 4 submissions in the App gallery. Was just curious about how many submissions that have already been received. Can we send our submissions directly to the mint team if we do not want to expose them to the public at this stage ?
Thanks.

Hi Karun,
Thanks for writing. To enter the challenge and have your submission reviewed you must enter your submission here: http://mintchipchallenge.com/submissions/new
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis and published on the gallery after they are tested and deemed eligible.
We encourage you to submit early, but you can enter your submission at any time up until the submission deadline which is August 1 at 5pm EDT.
Best,
Marny

You can upload your video to youtube and simply not list it that means a viewer needs to know the link. But at this point in the contest there is very little point to secrecy. There are other submissions.

Based on what I can tell from the submission page count, there are 50 submissions

How can you tell? And I hope there's less than that lol, there's only 13 right now. Anybody know how long it'll take before they all get up there?

If you go to a submission, it says in the top right corner, x of 50. According to the email I received after submitting, all the apps will be reviewed and tested prior to being posted.
Nathan Jervis • about 11 years ago
huh, for me it just says x of 14. And I guess I'll just wait till mine goes up there, I submitted 4 hours before the deadline, so it should be one of the last

Click on your application, not the approved ones. Seeing that the count just went down to 49 and another application was approved, I think the real count is 63, rather than 50.

Ah okay, thanks. Okay so 63 applications, definitely more than the 11 we had before the deadline. Even if I don't win I feel like this would look good on a resume.

Hi Nathan and Justin,
Thank you for entering submissions to The MintChip Challenge. Submissions are being reviewed in the order that they were received. All submissions will be reviewed before the start of the Judging and Public Voting periods. The total number of eligible submissions cannot be determined before all submissions have been reviewed. Thank you.
Best,
Marny

Nathan: I agree, that's part of the reason I entered.
Marny: Are the submissions tested prior to being posted?
Thanks!

Hi Justin,
Yes, every submission is being tested before it is posted on the submission gallery.

Marny

If you look above "Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis and published on the gallery after they are tested and deemed eligible. "
And Marny, will there be any certificates or anything for competing in this competition? It would be awesome if we could get some.

Hi Nathan,
All the prizes can be found here: http://mintchipchallenge.com/#prizes

So then there's no chance of getting a certificate for at least competing then? Like we don't get anything if we don't win?
Justin Paulin • about 11 years ago
I doubt it, though the Large Organization Recognition Plaque was probably up for grabs had you entered as a large organization.
I just use my GitHub profile on my resume to show past work, so I'll publish my app there after the competition.

Yeah I guess I'll just leave it up on my website.

Marny: Just curious how the submissions are ordered by default in the application gallery?
Xitij Patel • about 11 years ago
We're curious about how the submissions are being tested. All of our clients require an NFC-enabled smartphone, and we only tested on the Galaxy Nexus, BlackBerry Bold 9900, and BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha. Is it simply just to check that the app loads? Or that it works completely?
Our apps work, just concerned that the MintChip judges/testers may run into issues, and we'd hate to be disqualified because of that.

Hi David,
The order of the apps in the gallery changes every 24 hours.
Hi Xitij,
Apps are being thoroughly tested. If we run into any issues testing your app, we will contact you.
Best,
Marny

Marny,
Well, the Nexus 7 tablet was just recently released, so you may not be able to test out the NFC kiosk. Let us know, we'd be happy to show it in action in person or over videoconferencing.

Hi Xitij,
I'm making a note on your submission regarding this, we will contact you if we encounter any issues. Thank you.
Best,
Marny

How do we determine where our app is in the queue of apps waiting to be reviewed? My app used to be listed as number 11 of 50, now it shows up as 23 of 46.
